Part-Time Program Assistant

Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is a local government agency that advocates and implements best management practices for conservation of land and aquatic resources through education, stewardship and technical assistance. The SWCD’s work is aimed at reaching diverse audiences to advocate for behavioral changes for the protection of water quality and habitat.

The Program Assistant reports to the Director and provides support for administrative and program needs. The Program Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clerical tasks which support the SWCD’s program goals

Program Assistant Scope

  • Managing accounts receivable and payable, invoicing, tracking revenue, payments and banking deposits
  • Maintaining financial and administrative records
  • Monthly support to the board of supervisors
  • Upkeeping program databases
  • Procuring office supplies, equipment, maintaining inventory records
  • Organizing and providing support for meetings, professional trainings and public events
  • Answering phones, scheduling meetings

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, Associates Degree is preferred
  • Two-four years of progressive clerical or book-keeping experience, financial experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in financial/accounting software, QuickBooks is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must be self-motivated and demonstrate strong organizational
  • Available to work Monday-Friday
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, board members, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to attend evening or weekend meetings on an occasional basis is preferred
  • Experience with non-profit or small business is preferred

The candidate must have a valid driver’s license. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the application process.

Salary & Benefits

Salary range from $18-20 per hour commensurate with experience and education

Prorated paid vacation after 1 year

Prorated sick leave and holiday leave
