Learn how to harvest rainwater for all your garden needs and to combat stormwater pollution in your community by constructing a rain barrel! The City of Brook Park and Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District will host a rain barrel workshop on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 beginning at 6:30 PM at the Brook Park Recreation Center. Each participant will construct a rain barrel to take home. The workshop fee includes instruction and all materials, including a 60-gallon barrel and a downspout diverter. Registration is required by April 10.
A rain barrel is a container used to collect and store rainwater that would otherwise be lost to runoff and likely diverted to a storm drain. Collected water may then be used to water lawns and gardens.
