Learn how to harvest rainwater for all your garden needs and to combat stormwater pollution in your community by constructing a rain barrel! Olmsted Township and Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District will host a rain barrel workshop on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 beginning at 6:30 PM at the Olmsted Township Service Garage on Fitch Rd. Each participant will construct a rain barrel to take home. The workshop fee includes instruction and all materials, including a 60-gallon barrel and a downspout diverter. Registration is required by April 22.
A rain barrel is a container used to collect and store rainwater that would otherwise be lost to runoff and likely diverted to a storm drain. Collected water may then be used to water lawns and gardens.
