Green Schools, Green Jobs & Blue Waters  - PD for High School Science Teachers

Educators are invited to join us for a 3-day workshop exploringhigh schoollesson plans, resources and project ideas. Learn how you can use correlated environmental education curricula and resources (including funding avenues) to re-energize your students and improve learning outcomes.

Online begins Friday, June 18 and 3 days of in- person begins Tuesday, June 22. The online portion will have an introduction on June 18th (it will be recorded) and the online content will be available from June 18th through June 22nd. We will conduct the in-person parts outside from 8:30-3, at the Cleveland Metroparks (CMP) Watershed Stewardship Center in Parma and the CMP Brecksville Reservation, with a short field trip to Station Road Bridge in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Workshop includes:

  • Online PLT Green Schools and Green Jobs training (7.5 hours)
  • Project WET & Aquatic Wild certification and curriculum guide
  • PLT “Places We Live” Secondary Module
  • Training in Water Reporter
  • Peer Teaching
  • Teacher tour of the Watershed Stewardship Center
  • Service learning session

Course Fee - $75 - includes supplies, Project WET and PLT “Places We Live” curriculum guides, Green Jobs and Green Schools online training and e–curriculum materials.

(Project Wild Aquatic guides are provided free-of-charge by the ODNR-Division of Wildlife)

2 optional graduate credits from Ashland University are available for $360 ($180 per credit).

Scholarships are available for Cuyahoga County teachers through our agency
