The first ring, high school Conservation Career Expo will be held at the Educational Service Center (ESC) of Northeast Ohio in Independence on February 15, 2022. Your students will rotate through stations/rooms filled with conservation career professionals and fun activities and demonstrations. One of the rooms will have a panel focused on the theme of “Pathways to Conservation Careers”. We’ll have an outdoor station where students can explore with a National Park Ranger, see a CCTV robot that helps the sewer district examine their underground infrastructure and get a closeup look at other conservation equipment. We’re even working to get a portable sawmill and a wildfire engine.
You can register for a morning (9:30 – 11:30) or afternoon (10:30-1) session. There will be a limited number of seats for our lunch time keynote speaker, Veronica Walton, Executive Director of Food Depot to Health. Please be sure to bring bagged lunches for your students if you register for the keynote session.
Space is limited so please choose students who are interested in conservation or environmental science.
Due to room capacities, it is critical that you register the number of people (including adults) who will be attending. Spots are first come, first serve. You will recieve a rotation schedule close to the event date.
