Our partners at the Cuyahoga River Area of Concern’s (AOC) Advisory Committee are holding a public celebration in honor of Argonaut, the 2022 Champion of the River.
Argonaut, a local non-profit who builds adventurers through immersive learning experiences that challenge assumptions and shift norms for growing empowered talent in aerospace and maritime fields, is being celebrated on November 16, 2022, at the Historic Cleveland Coastguard Station. Doors open at 9:00 am, and program begins at 9:30 am.
The event is open to all, but registration online is required. Members of the AOC Advisory Committee, as well as students and administrators from Argonaut, will speak on the importance of a healthy Cuyahoga River, training the next generation of maritime professionals, and the future of the Area of Concern.
Originally founded in 2010 by D. Andrew Ferguson and Douglas McConnell and known as PHASTAR, the organization re-branded and launched in 2022 as Argonaut. In partnership with Davis Aerospace and Maritime High School and Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Argonaut serves as the industry expert, connecting students and teachers to hands-on learning experiences that support building career pathways in the fields of aerospace and maritime.
