Description:
Learn how to harvest rainwater for all your garden needs and to combat stormwater pollution in your community by constructing a rain barrel! A rain barrel is a container used to collect and store rainwater that would otherwise be lost to runoff and likely diverted to a storm drain. Collected water may then be used to water lawns and gardens.
Each participant will construct a rain barrel to take home. The $60 fee includes instruction and all materials, including a 60-gallon barrel and a downspout diverter. If you would like to create a two-barrel system, a second barrel and connector kit is available for an additional $40.
This workshop will be held at the Rocky River Memorial Hall Community Room, 21016 Hilliard Blvd., Rocky River, OH 44116.
