What is Stormwater Awareness Week?

Stormwater Awareness Week is a regional effort that encourages communities (and the groups that care about them) to raise stormwater awareness via newsletters and social media posts, or with fun and educational events.

Example actions/events might include (but are definitely not limited to):

  • Community or Neighborhood Clean-Ups (litter, streams, stormwater ponds, etc)
  • Native Tree & Plant Installations
  • Rain Garden Construction and/or Maintenance Activities
  • Educational Workshops or Tours (residents/businesses/contractors)
  • Newsletter Articles & Social Media Posts
  • Press Releases
  • Adoption of Community Stormwater Resolutions

Anyone can participate in Stormwater Awareness Week (municipalities, townships, schools, watershed groups, and more!).
