Cuyahoga SWCD works with communities and contractors to reduce pollution from construction sites under Ohio EPA’s Stormwater Program. Before construction activity begins, our Stormwater Team reviews Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3s) for project sites disturbing one or more acres of land. SWP3s include various stormwater control measures (SCMs), such as erosion and sediment controls, to prevent pollutants from construction site runoff from entering local waterways. Early reviews of site plans and SWP3s helps identify challenges before work begins and reduce the environmental impact from construction projects, helping to save both time and money across the life of the project.
