Amy has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Ohio University and a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from Cleveland State University. Early in her environmental career, she was significantly shaped by the book “Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature” by Janine Benyus. She firmly believes all the answers we seek can be found in nature and is dedicated to educating herself and others about the natural world so its wisdom can be protected and we can coexist with nature. To quote Janine Benyus, “After 3.8 billion years of research and development, failures are fossils, and what surrounds us is the secret to survival.”
Amy is an avid gardener incorporating native plants into her home landscape to help pollinators and other critters. She regularly travels to visit family and friends and to explore new places. Amy can usually be found taking nature photographs, swimming, reading in her hammock under a tree, posting way too much on social media (usually about her cats), hanging out with friends, or in her gardens planting more plants that she had no business buying because she has no more room for them.
