Harper Smith

After graduating from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor’s in Chemical Biology, Harper decided she liked Cleveland so much that she wanted to stay here for a while. During her time in school, she was able to explore public health, sociology, ecology, and environmental science which culminated in her desire to build healthy cities for healthy people and a healthy environment. After doing hands-on work at a farm food program and a state park, she wanted to see what the day-to-day looked like for environmental professionals and that’s how she found NOWCorps. Harper is excited to be learning about the ins and outs of an environmental agency during her year of service (2024-2025). In her free time, she likes to cook, try new restaurants, go thrifting, do various craft projects, and hang out with her cat.
