Since 2018, Cuyahoga SWCD has served as the facilitating organization staffing the Cuyahoga AOC Advisory Committee.
The lower 46.5 miles of the Cuyahoga River, including all the tributaries that drain to it and the adjacent Lake Erie shoreline, comprise the Cuyahoga River Area of Concern. As the facilitating organization for the AOC Advisory Committee, Cuyahoga SWCD supports the AOC’s mission and is committed to the vision that the Cuyahoga River is a regional asset worthy of restoration, remediation, and protection. Through a grant agreement with Ohio EPA, Cuyahoga SWCD provides administrative duties, collaborates on outreach & education initiatives, and supports actions and projects bringing the river back to health. If you are interested in having a watershed protection event - such as a stream clean-up, rain barrel workshop, or educational - in your area please contact our Watershed Coordinator for more information.
