School Program – MWEE Projects

WHAT IS AN MWEE PROJECT?

MWEE’s or Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences are site-specific projects designed to get your students engaging with science concepts in real-life applications. In the learner-centered MWEE process, students will:

• develop an issue definition they will use to determine the focus of the project,
• participate in outdoor field experiences where they will get to see these science concepts in action and gather data,
• synthesize and conclude their own learning by sharing their findings with others through presentations and our Spring Symposium, and
• conduct an environmental action project that directly addresses the issue they identified.

Each MWEE Project is unique and can be designed to cover cross-curricular Ohio State Standards at any grade level. The CSWCD education team can also help design MWEE Projects that align with Scouts or other curriculum requirements.
