The Streamulator is a large stream table that helps students visualize the characteristics of a natural stream such as erosion, deposition, sediment transport, and more. Teachers can also use this model to demonstrate how changes to a stream effect the overall system.
This model is available as a single presentation from a Cuyahoga SWCD educator or can be rented and used by a trained educator. A $25 refundable deposit is required for rental.
The Streamulator Model can be used with students at many different grade levels, but fits best with 7th grade science curriculum as it aligns with the following Ohio State Science Standard:
7.LS.2: In any particular biome, the number, growth and survival of organisms and populations depend on biotic and abiotic factors.
