Callie Sommers, M. Ed

Callie is a recent Midwest transplant from Phoenix where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree in Secondary Education and has spent the past seven years as a science teacher in the Mesa and Gilbert School Districts out in Arizona.  Callie is very passionate about providing all students with access to practical and hands-on science lessons that give them chances to engage with the world around them. Callie is serving as our 2023-24 NOWCorps Member with our education team focusing on school and youth programming.

Since she is new to the area, Callie has really been enjoying exploring the greater Cleveland area and experiencing all four seasons. She loves thrifting, upcycling furniture pieces, and giving new life to clothing pieces with her sewing machine.
