What We Do

Stormwater Services

As a non-regulatory public service, the District’s Stormwater Program is focused on developing and implementing better methods to help guide planning, design, construction and maintenance of water quality Best Management Practices (BMPs).  Technical assistance and education in the areas of soil quality, soil survey techniques, drastically-disturbed land rehabilitation, and repurposing distressed, urban lands for agriculture, urban forestry, and stormwater management are specializations as well. The stormwater staff also provides general assistance to landowners related to erosion, drainage, and soils.

The SWCD assists communities with the implementation of their stormwater management plans that are required by the Ohio EPA (MS4 Permit-OH000003).  That work includes public involvement, public education, storm water pollution prevention plan reviews, erosion and sediment control inspections/reports, and post-construction stormwater management operations and maintenance inspections.
