What We Do

Watershed Management

Cuyahoga SWCD's Watershed Program works at a local level to foster a community-based watershed stewardship effort involving elected officials, citizens and watershed groups.  The Cuyahoga SWCD is actively-engaged and implementing watershed initiatives in the Euclid CreekRocky River, and Cahoon Creek-Frontal Lake Erie watersheds.

The program focuses on three main objectives in establishing healthy watersheds:

  • Enabling public involvement and education through stewardship activities
  • Providing support to watershed groups and local public officials to guide and implement watershed initiatives and watershed planning.
  • Identifying and developing opportunities to improve and protect watershed resources in collaboration with local communities and regional, state and federal partner agencies.
